POSITION SUMMARY
The Credentialing Assistant provides administrative support to the Medical Staff Office through a variety of responsibilities including triaging calls, greeting and assisting visitors, processing paperwork, setting up and notifying team member of appointments, as well as special projects. The Credentialing Assistant provides support in the management of data and regulatory compliance while keeping information confidential.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs administrative duties such as correspondence, memos and maintenance o general and confidential records with the Medical Staff Office.
- Answers phones and greets guests with interest and support
- Maintains provider information in the credentialing database.
- Maintain compliance of expirable items such as licenses, ACLS/BLS certifications, malpractice coverage, TB testing, etc.
- May assist with credentialing audits and may assist to conduct internal file audits.
- Assist with administrative functions associated with the onboarding of new providers and students.
- Assist in planning and coordinating events such as the Physician Service Awards and Medical Staff meetings.
- Assists in all functions of the Medical Staff Office as directed by the Medical Staff Office Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
