The HR Assistant serves as the face of Human Resources in accepting or delivering information to internal and external customers. The HR Assistant provides customer service through a variety of responsibilities including triaging calls, greeting and assisting visitors, processing paperwork, setting up and notifying team members of appointments, as well as special projects. The HR Assistant provides support in the management of data and regulatory compliance while keeping information confidential.
  • Performs administrative duties such as correspondence, memos and maintenance of general and confidential records within the HR department.
  • Serves as the front face to Human Resources through the provision of reception duties, greeting internal and external customers in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Triages phone and in-person questions and promptly responds or transitions the issue to the appropriate Riverview Health staff member.
  • Provides support in database maintenance by either keying in and tracking data or administration of software managed by the HR department.
  • Manages the administrative functions of education programs such as tuition reimbursement and other training programs.
  • Assists with the administrative functions associated with the onboarding of new employees and affiliated healthcare providers.
  • Plans and coordinates Riverview Health's employee events and recognition programs, ensuring timelines and budgetary requirements are met.
  • Manages the availability of supplies, forms and materials needed for the effective operations of the department
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements:
  • Minimum: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in business or human resources or other related discipline
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum: 6 months to 1 year of clerical experience.  Experience with MS Office products, computer databases, general office equipment, and customer service experience.
