POSITION SUMMARY

The Practice Manager manages daily operations of the physician practices including clerical, clinical and financial functions. The Manager provides direct on-site management of office professional and support staff.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interview, hire, and onboard new staff to the practice location.  Supervise, coordinate and delegate the duties and schedule of office professional and support staff.  Manage employee performance through training, education and performance feedback. 

  • Participate in the selection, orientation and training of all support staff.

  • Use knowledge of office flow and operations to coordinate office, manage schedules, evaluate and modify processes and ensure offices are maintained.  Coordinate and maintain medical and clerical supplies and equipment. 

  • Verify and adjudicate office expense records, verify and adjudicate patient billing records with billing staff and ensure proper maintenance of medical records in compliance with state and federal requirements.

  • Assist with the development of the financial budget for assigned practice(s). Coordinate the maintenance of office financial records and manage and monitor managed care referrals. In cooperation with credentialing department, initiate and maintain practice physician's credentialing contracts with third party payers.

  • Provide oversight, education and adherence to applicable departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Ensure compliance to regulatory agency mandates meeting federal, state and local requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements

    • Minimum: High School Graduate
    • Preferred: Associates degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or other related field of study
    • Preferred: licensed registered nurse
    • Preferred: OBGYN practice experience                                                   

Experience Requirements

    • Minimum: Five-year (5) previous physician office management or supervisory experience in a medical office setting, or previous physician accounts receivable management
