As a member of the healthcare team here at Riverview Health, the Facilities Maintenance Technician demonstrates active patient advocacy to ensure all rights are identified and met for every patient. The HVAC Facilities Maintenance Technician encompasses all duties relating to providing exemplary service at Riverview Health. Outstanding customer service skills and understanding of confidentiality and productivity are required by the Facilities Maintenance Technician.

HVAC Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Functions:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems throughout the hospital. Some of the duties are as follows:
• Maintain and operate Facility Equipment and Systems
  • HVAC equipment such as Steam Boilers, Hot Water Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers and Air Handling Units.
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Building Automation and Controls
  • Fire systems
• Preventative maintenance of buildings and grounds as assigned
• Coordinate small building improvement projects
• Winter snow removal Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Requirements:

HVAC Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Requirements:

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with additional electrical, plumbing, or plant engineer trade school courses or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum Experience: 3 years of institutional, commercial or industrial maintenance experience
• Preferred: Journeyman's license or trade school completion and/or 5-7 years of healthcare maintenance, plant equipment operation, controls experience, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing
• Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be physically capable of making prescribed inspections and repairs of the plant, and be able to visually and audibly determine any discrepancies.
• Must have physical dexterity, coordination and stamina to perform the inspections, which involves climbing ladders, using and operating the tools and machinery to perform job duties.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, stand, sit, bend, stoop and walk for extended periods of time as necessary to perform the outlined job duties and snow removal properly and safely.
