Radiation Therapist II

POSITION SUMMARY
- Responsible for treating patients using high energy x-rays. Key functions include daily treatments, simulation and treatment planning.
- Must assume responsibilities in the daily treatment of patients.
- Must demonstrate an understanding of the physical and emotional needs of the patient.
- Must revise care to provide optimum patient treatment.
- Must demonstrate leadership capabilities.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
- Must comply with all applicable policies and procedures, including, but not limited to: all departmental and functional policy and procedure, maintaining acceptable attendance records, arriving for duty punctually, and following dress code.
- Must participate in performance improvement activities as requested.
- Must assume information management responsibilities.
- Must have knowledge and skills pertinent to the functional approach to patient care.
- Must perform duties as an active member of the healthcare team.
- Must demonstrate a knowledge of team dynamics and contribute to team building and skills related to participation in and strengthening of the multidisciplinary team approach to the delivery of patient care.
- Must be knowledgeable of and demonstrate skills in the principles of infection prevention, reduction, and control as appropriate for radiation oncology.
- Must be able to safely and effectively use medical equipment in carrying out planned interventions.
- Must work with other disciplines to ensure that planning and implementation of care is coordinated and collaborative in nature in the context of radiation oncology.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Level of Education
- Minimum: ARRT certification eligibility requires graduation from an educational program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the ARRT
Passing score on the ARRT radiation therapy certification exam
Board Eligible, with condition of passing score on the ARRT radiation therapy certification exam within 90 days of graduation.

Level of Experience
- Minimum: 1 year experience in Radiation Therapy

- State Issued License - Yes
- CPR - Yes
- ACLS - N/A
- PALS - N/A
- Type of Specialty Certification or other Licensure, if required: - Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of the Radiologic Technologist or Board Eligible
