Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse RN 7p-7a FT

As a member of the healthcare team here at Riverview Health, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Maternity Department demonstrates active patient advocacy to ensure all rights are identified and met for every patient. The Registered Nurse (RN) encompasses all duties relating to providing exemplary patient care services at Riverview Health. Outstanding customer service skills and understanding of confidentiality and productivity are required by the Registered Nurse (RN).

Night Shift Position: 36 hours per week, 7p-7:30a

• Initiate assessment data and identify specific patient physical, psychological, social, education, safety and discharge planning problems/needs by utilizing CCM's when disease appropriate.
• Modify plan of care based on reassessment of the patient including observed patient response to treatment/care and evaluation of patient's progress toward goal completion.
• Establish a plan of care based on identified ante, intra, and post-partum patient problems needs which includes specific patient/family goals and nursing interventions to meet those goals.
• Ensure that specific educational and discharge needs identified in the assessment process are met.
• Be aware of age related doses for maternal, newborn, and adolescent populations.
• Be able to provide mother baby couplet care.
• Be able to provide immediate care to the newborn and follow NRP guidelines.
• Be able to provide care for families of adoptions and bereavement.

Maternity Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse Program Licensed RN in the state of Indiana
• Preferred: BSN
• Minimum Experience: At least 1 year of RN experience
• Preferred: At least 2-3 years of RN experience
• Other Requirements: CPR and ACLS, S.T.A.B.L.E. for Nursery staff. Basic Telemetry may be required for labor and delivery staff at management discretion. NRP required for all staff
