Electrician

POSITION SUMMARY
- Plan and implement activities as related to the electrical field. including installation and maintenance of electrical utility, distribution switchgear and associated systems to operate hospital physical plant.
- Install and maintain all conduit, wiring, breakers, motors, electrical lighting, battery lighting, outlets, and electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair all electrical needs.
- Monitor and inspect work to insure compliance with codes and regulations.
- Must operate, inspect, repair and perform tests on electrical lighting, emergency generators, alarm systems and communication systems.
- Ability to schedule and perform preventative maintenance on all electric circuits and control panels.
- Must requisition materials, supplies and equipment.
- Maintain a sufficient inventory of spare parts to maintain the hospital electrical systems in good working order and make emergency repairs when needed.
- Must be able to perform a variety of general maintenance repairs including but not limited to general repair work in the hospital and off-site facilities.
- Must maintain established hospital and department policies and procedures, objectives, safety, quality, environment and infection control.
- Keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe.
- Install all work per applicable codes.
- Maintain adequate inventory of fuses, electrical supplies, tools, and parts.
- Attend meeting and in services as required.
- Coordinate work order lists based on priorities in the work order system and in conjunction with Engineering Supervisor.
- Coordinate with Construction Supervisor for scheduling and completion of in house construction projects.
- Maintain current all work order entry and completion in the work order system.
- Must comply with all applicable policies and procedures, including, but not limited to: all departmental and functional policy and procedure, maintaining acceptable attendance records, arriving for duty punctually, and following dress code.

Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Level of Education
- Minimum: High School Diploma with 4 years Electricians apprenticeship
Preferred: Journeyman Electrician

Level of Experience
- Minimum: 3-5 years commercial or institutional
Preferred: 5-7 years expericence as a Journeyman Electrician
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- State Issued License - Yes
- CPR - N/A
- Specialty - N/A
- ACLS - N/A
- PALS - N/A
- Type of Specialty Certification or other Licensure, if required: -Journeyman status
